James Vincent McMorrow

I think my absolute favorite new musician of the year is probably James Vincent McMorrow, an Irish folk singer/songwriter. Loren and I got to go see his first ever headlining gig in the states at the Mercury Lounge a couple months ago, and he was fantastic. Now to bombard you with videos:

This is his song “We Are Ghosts,” very pretty and also kind of haunting.

But my favorite song of his is probably “We Don’t Eat,” which there happens to be a live video of from the very concert that we saw:

Another song I love is “Sparrow and the Wolf,” though I can’t decide how I feel about the official video — it’s kind of strange:

And there is this cover that he did of “Whip My Hair,” pretty funny:

Also NPR did this fun “Tiny Desk Concert” with James that was just posted today.

Okay. That’s enough gratuitous video sharing for today!
